Brides-to-be are being invited to get their hands on their dream dress while supporting local causes at a unique wedding fair.
Couples set to tie the knot will be able to browse a selection of vintage and pre-loved dresses, occasion wear, men’s suits and accessories at Y Plas in Machynlleth.
The New To You Wedding Fair, which is being organised by our Machynlleth shop, will be taking place on Saturday 9 March, between 10am and 4pm.
Stalls selling different wedding-related items and a fashion show will be at the free event to help raise money for several local charities, including Severn Hospice which cares for families living with incurable illnesses.
Manager of the hospice’s Machynlleth shop, Nicola Burgess, is inviting lovebirds in the Dyfi Valley area and beyond to attend.
She said: “So many wedding dresses and accessories are never worn more than once and people don’t know what to do with them.
“We thought it would be great to offer people the opportunity to give their quality wedding wear a new lease of life while supporting a great cause.
“There is still space in our shops to accommodate more donations so please feel free to pop in.
“We will also be holding a Severn Hospice raffle, which will help fund care for families living with an incurable illness. Come along and grab a pre-loved dress at a fraction of the price.”
On the day, there will be a wedding-inspired fashion show, prosecco bar, local businesses selling vintage items perfect for the DIY vintage wedding and a local organic flower farmer.
Some of the raffle prizes up for grabs include a luxury two-night stay with Tree Houses Wales, a private tour and gin tasting session with Dyfi Gin Distillery and a £50 voucher for interior design shop Bedwen in the town.
Raffle tickets cost £1 each and can be purchased at the charity’s shops in Ludlow, Cleobury Mortimer, Ludlow, Shrewsbury, Bayston Hill, Cleobury Mortimer, Llandidloes, Church Stretton as well as Machynlleth. They are also available from the hospice reception in Bicton Heath, Shrewsbury.
