Shoppers at our Superstore have raised almost £200,000 towards helping families living with an incurable illness in its first year.

Staff and volunteers at our Shropshire’s biggest charity shop in the Castlefields area of Shrewsbury are thanking you as it celebrates being part of the community for one year on September 13.

Over the first 12 months, more than 21,000 people have bought over 52,000 items – all of which were donated by our wonderful supporters in the local community.

And we’ve now opened the shop on Sundays, so we can continue to raise vital funds to support local families in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales.

Our head of retail, Ross Henderson, said: “We can’t believe it’s been a whole year since our superstore opened its doors for business.

“The support of the Castlefields community in particular has been outstanding – we’ve been inundated by donations of preloved things and been blown away by the amount of quality bargains bought.

“It’s been a great first year for us and we can’t thank our volunteers, staff and supporters for their dedication and generosity enough – with their help, we’ve been able to help fund care for families who need us.”

Our superstore, in Beacalls Lane, part of our chain of 27 award-winning shops, is three times bigger than our largest high street shop.

You can browse the 6,000sq ft store from 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday – and now on Sundays between 10am and 4pm.

Ross added: “We’re really happy to have opened our store to supporters on Sundays. Don’t forget to pop along and browse our collection of bargains. We have everything – from clothes, jewellery, accessories and homewares to furniture, books, CDs and more!

“This first year has been fantastic and we’re looking forward to being part of the local area for years to come.”
