We’re launching exciting new events with a selection of adventure fundraising challenges for those that want to embark on an incredible journey whilst raising money to help us be there for the next family that needs our help.
We have new opportunities for fundraisers to take on the adventure of a lifetime by choosing from a selection of challenges including trekking the Inca Trail in Peru, white water rafting the Zambezi, cycling from London to Paris and summiting 24 peaks in just 24 hours in the Lake District.
Community Fundraising Manager, Mike Perry said: “We want to inspire our fundraisers to take on the challenge of a lifetime and raise funds for our hospice. The money raised by these trips makes a big difference to our patients and their families whilst also giving our supporters the opportunity to take part in something spectacular.”
Steph Hardman and her sister, Lesley Wright, took on the Great Wall of China to raise money for our hospice in 2015 and caught the adventure fundraising bug along the way.
Steph said: “My husband Jim was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer in January 2013 and the care the hospice provided, not just for my husband but for our whole family, was incredible. My sister and I are taking on the Inca Trail next year because of the care they gave my husband and the support they have continued to give us.
“We made lifelong friends trekking the Great Wall of China and raised £5,500 for the hospice. We know taking on one of these challenges makes such a difference to the hospice and we hope lots of people will get involved. It’s a truly incredible experience.”
