Christmas cheer will last even longer, as we offer a new home to presents that can’t be returned.
Our 32 shops across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales are reopening their doors from Friday 27 December as ‘regifting hubs’ where supporters can donate any presents they are not planning to keep.
Thoughtful
“Regifting through our shops is a really simple way of respecting the care that someone’s put into buying a present. By donating to us you’re passing on that kindness and we then turn those items into care for local families.
“It really is the thought that counts. You can never feel guilty for regifting a present to a charity shop, and it embraces a more sustainable lifestyle too,” said Head of Retail Carla Siswick.
Regifting
According to a national survey, one in four people receive gifts over the festive period they don’t end up using.
We provide free care for people living with incurable illnesses, and welcome donation of homeware, bric-a-brac, toys and games, books, clothing, handbags, shoes and accessories.
Carla said: “We’re encouraging anyone with gifts that can’t be returned, don’t fit or quite hit the mark or you’ve received a duplicate, to drop them off at one of our shops rather than let them gather dust at the back of a cupboard.
“Items in their original, shiny packaging are especially popular, bringing joy to their new owners while supporting the care we provide.”
Support
Through the generosity of donors and shoppers we receive more than £1.6 million towards our caring services each year.
“Every quality donation and sale make such a valuable contribution and thanks to Gift Aid, every £1 we raise means an extra 25p to us if supporters opt in, which makes a huge difference to the care we can deliver,” Carla explained.
“We are so grateful to all our supporters and are really looking forward to welcoming customers old and new to our shops and we mustn’t forget our wonderful online eBay store customers who support us from home too.”
Severn Hospice shops will be open during their regular hours from 27–30 December, and on New Year’s Eve from 10am–2pm.
