We’re asking amateur cyclists to get in the saddle to take on an epic 300-mile challenge of a lifetime for our hospice. Cyclists of all abilities can take part in our London to Paris ride next Spring.
If you enjoy a challenge and have a taste for French cuisine we would like to invite you to attend our French themed launch party on October 11th at 7pm at our hospice in Apley Castle to find out more about the challenge and to meet the event organisers.
We’ve teamed up with Skyline Events to offer our supporters the opportunity to take part in the event which is set to take place from April 19th to April 23rd 2017. Over the course of the ride, cyclists will get the chance to enjoy the picturesque French countryside, passing historical monuments and famous First World War battlefields.
Participants will finish their epic ride at the Eiffel Tower in the centre of Paris. Those that take part will be asked to pay a £99 deposit and raise a minimum fixed sum of £1,525 through fundraising, half of which will go towards covering the costs of the trip with the other half going to our hospice. Alternatively, you can choose to cover the cost of the trip, paying the £99 deposit plus £762 direct to Skyline and then simply raise as much as you can for the hospice.
Mel Pugh, Healthcare Assistant at Severn Hospice, took part in this incredible challenge in 2010. She said: “It’s an absolutely fantastic opportunity for cyclists at any level to tackle a beautiful route whilst doing something incredible for charity. When you arrive in Paris it’s amazing, the atmosphere is wonderful and it’s a fantastic feeling knowing that you have raised so much money for such a good cause.”
