With tickets priced at just £1 each, one lucky person is guaranteed to win £5,000 in our Summer Raffle.

This year our dedicated supporter John Wardle is sharing his own experience of the care he received at Severn Hospice. John has written a letter asking our supporters to buy raffle tickets and help to make sure that we are there to support and care for the next family that needs our help.

John has become a dedicated supporter of our hospice since his wife Kim passed away here in 2013. In his letter to supporters he writes that he will never forget his time here and that everyone who takes part in the summer raffle will be making sure that the next family who needs our  loving care is looked after as well as Kim was.

John’s heartfelt letter explains how we cared for his wife and why this has left a lasting impression on him, his family and friends, he says: “The nursing staff did all they could to make Kim comfortable, to ease her pain, to respond to her needs and in general ensure her care was the best anyone could give. A request for a Gin and Tonic was not a problem!

“Other than the two nights I slept at home, I was with Kim throughout her stay at the hospice. Although Kim’s care was at the forefront of the nursing staff’s minds, they also had time to look out for me, my son, family and friends who visited.”
