Harry Meakin made the decision to take on three mountains in 24 hours to support our hospice after his Mum, Helen, sadly passed away in July of this year.
Harry and his friends; Luke Roberts, James Stokes, Cal Burns, Matty Owen, Dave Adams, Mitchell Evans, Fred Wilson, Matty Willis and Ali Sim, with the help of their trusty drivers Simon and Sean Meakin, tackled Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in 22 hours and 33minutes to raise funds for our hospice.
The Dog and Bull in Coton has also hosted a Race Night to help raise money for the group, showing old clips of horse races and those taking part could choose a horse to support. All the funds raised have gone towards Harry’s and the team’s total. The group has so far raised over £4,500 and after collecting the remaining donations are hoping to reach a grand total of £5,000!
Harry’s Just Giving page says: “Severn hospice has been a big part of my life in the last year, and I can’t thank them enough for the constant love and support they paid my mum, Nan and Grandad, as well as being there for other family members close to me. I can only hope the money we raise can help the charity continue to shine lights on other families like mine.”
We would like to thank Harry and his friends for their incredible support. If you would like to support Harry and his fellow fundraisers you can make a donation at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/3peakchallengeforhelen.
