Lake Vyrnwy Half Marathon 2012
We are thrilled to announce that once again our 50 places in the Lake Vyrnwy Half Marathon have been snapped up at record speed. For those of you who missed out, we are running a reserve list in case any places become available closer to the date. This homemade race is still organised and managed by a small committee of local people and goes ahead without a major sponsor or any of the commercial trappings that this entails. The enthusiasm of the local community can be seen on the day as they all pitch in to ensure a memorable occasion whilst also delivering a fully UKAA acredited half marathon.
In 2011 our fastest male was James Dowdall in 1:28:26 and fastest female was Kim Bennett in 1:46:23. Of 1,351 runners who completed the race, we provided three of the final 50 to finish! Around half of our team were taking part in their very first half marathon and our most successful single fundraiser raised £1,077 whilst the team overall raised over £10,000!
