Severn Hospice Support Groups
This page gives you more information about Hospice Support Groups, how to join one and how to form one.
Support Groups
We are incredibly lucky to have a network of Support Groups right across Shropshire, Telford and Montgomeryshire, each fundraising in their own way in their own local area.
Support Groups are groups of volunteers who work together in their spare time to raise funds to enable Severn Hospice to carry on caring for their friends and neighbours. They also act as ambassadors for the Hospice in the community.
Each Support Group works independently but with the full support of the Appeals team. Some do regular collections in town centres or supermarkets, some focus on coffee mornings and table top sales, others enjoy organising major events such as balls or concerts.
Events organised by Support Groups are listed on our event calendar.
We currently have support groups in Bridgnorth & Wheatlands, Broseley, Church Stretton, Cleobury Mortimer, Clive and District, Ellesmere, Llanfair Caereinion, Lllanfyllin, Market Drayton, Meole Brace, Much Wenlock, Myddle, Newport, Newtown, Oswestry, Shifnal, Tanat Valley, and West Shrewsbury.
And there are Friends of Severn Hospice in Bomere Heath, Corvedale, Pontesbury and Wistanstow plus a successful 100 Club in Newport and a Pals for Life group.

When you join a Support Group you will find that it is a lovely way to combine fundraising with having fun and making new friends. The Groups are very sociable and most meet regularly to plan and to exchange ideas. If you would like to join your local group then contact appeals@severnhospice.org.uk or pop along to their next event and say hello.
If there isn’t a Support Group in your area why not set one up? Every one of our existing Support Groups started with someone like you deciding to make it happen. If you want to talk it over, then just drop an email to appeals@severnhospice.org.uk or call 01743 236565.
