Donating Goods
We rely on the generosity of members of the public and businesses right across Shropshire, Telford and Montgomeryshire who donate quality clothes, books and other items to our shops. We need to raise two thirds of the money that funds Severn Hospice from the public and selling donated goods is a very important part of that fundraising.
We can often claim extra cash from the government through the Gift Aid scheme. This is on top of your donation and it doesn’t cost you a penny. There are strict rules which apply to this scheme so we will need you to fill in a form, you will need to be a UK taxpayer (not a business) and you must be donating your own items.
If you can make a Gift Aid declaration we will be able to claim an extra 25p for every £1 we raise by selling your goods. Ask us about Gift Aid when you call in with your goods. We will give you a simple form to complete and explain how the system works.
To find out more, visit our Gift Aid section.
There are several ways to donate
Drop off your goods at one of our shops or at our warehouse. Click here for list of shop locations and opening times. You can also drop goods off at our Telford site we would be grateful if you would telephone us first on 01743 272 082 so that we can expect you.
You could organise a collection at your workplace. Ask people to bring their goods in on an agreed day and then deliver the whole lot to one of our shops or to our warehouse. Click here for more ways that businesses can help support Severn Hospice.
