My Marathon
We are pleased to announce the launch of a brand new challenge and a great way to raise money for Severn Hospice.
My Marathon is a unique way for anyone to complete a marathon, just one mile at a time. Whether running, swimming, jumping or skipping, you chose how you complete each mile. As long as it’s legal and doesn’t put you or others in danger, you can do what you like.
You decide when, where and how you do your marathon, we just ask that you complete the 26 miles within a month of your first mile. Your marathon can be a personal challenge or you can take it on as part of a team.
As soon as you have your idea in place, contact us to register. We will provide sponsor forms and information on how to set up a page on Just Giving and will also help you to promote your marathon.
Although there is no registration fee or minimum sponsorship required, every penny you can raise will go straight to support the work the Hospice does within the community so we ask that you try to raise as much as possible.
My Marathon was inspired by Josh Beharrell aged 9 from Bayston Hill in Shrewsbury who first came up with the idea after wanting to be like his dad who ran the London Marathon for the Hospice in April 2010.
If you fancy taking part in this challenge just follow the link below to tell us your plans. Alternatively you can email appeals@severnhospice.org.uk with your name, address, age and idea and we’ll contact you with all the help you need. You can also call 01952 221 351 or 01743 354 450, or pick up a registration form from our Hospice sites or shops.
