Midnight Walks 2012

After another amazingly successful year the Midnight Walks will return on Saturday 26 May in Telford and Saturday 30 June in Shrewsbury!

2011 was our biggest year yet, with over 1200 ladies walking and raising an amazing £100,000 – thank you to everybody who took part or gave up their time as a volunteer.

We believe the 2012 walks can be even bigger and need your help to get as many women as possible taking part. Please start spreading the word by sending a link to this page to your friends, family and colleagues and encouraging them to sign up.

You can also download a Midnight Walk poster to display at work or in your local gym, pub or shop. Your help could make all the difference and make 2012 a record breaking year!

Midnight Walk – Telford

The first walk will take place on Saturday 26 May 2012 from Telford College of Arts and Technology (TCAT), Haybridge Road, Wellington, TF1 2NP.  We received some wonderful feedback on the 2011 route so will be keeping it for another year, but adding a twist by reversing it. This will help to keep our walkers safe as the pavements at the start of the walk will be wider and free from obstructions.

Midnight Walk – Shrewsbury

The second walk will take place on Saturday 30 June 2012, starting and finishing at Shrewsbury Sports Village , Sundorne Road, Shrewsbury, SY1 4RQ. Again, we have listened to your feedback from the 2011. As the Sports Village was such as a hit and the majority of walkers enjoyed the route we have made few changes but have improved the start of the walk. Although this means the 2012 walkers will not pass through the centre of town, they will be be following a safe route based on wide, well lit pavements.

Walkers at both events will be greeted with music, stalls, face painting and a special warm up – all part of the Midnight Walk experience.

Volunteers

Over 300 volunteers are involved in the Midnight Walks. From putting up signage to marshalling the route, handing out water to cheering on the returning walkers, there is a role for everyone. If you would like to volunteer at one of the walks just email midnightwalk@severnhospice.org.uk or call 01952 221 351.
