Midnight Walk – Shrewsbury
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us on Saturday 3 July for the fantastic Midnight Walk in Shrewsbury! About 600 ladies took part and in a sea of pink t-shirts they set off into the night.

The wonderful Raynet team once again supported the walkers and kept them safe throughout the night – we can’t thank them enough for all of their support at both this event and our Telford Midnight Walk in June.
We would also like to thank all of the volunteers who helped hand out water, sign in walkers and marshal the streets to ensure that everyone had a tremendous night. We could not have done it without each and every one of you. A big thank you also goes to Shrewsbury Town Football Club for hosting the event and making us so welcome through the early hours of the morning. Theatre Severn kept their doors open to the early hours to host our halfway checkpoint and their fantastic, friendly team were a great support.
Wyle Cop Flowers made our ‘thank you’ to the walkers look really special, while our thanks also go to SP Holding for lending us the extra tabards we needed to make sure all of our marshals were visible in the dark. Tootsweet gave a smile to every walker as they donated a hand-wrapped bag of retro sweets for each lady as they finished. Bannatynes’ Health Club donated a gym bottle to every walker as they finished too. The walkers were overwhelmed by their goody bags, a big thank you to everyone who donated. Thanks also to Monkmoor Explorer Scouts, who provided several marshals on the night, and to Shropshire Council, who lent us the minibuses to drive our marshals around the course. Press Red lent us the superb PA equipment which allowed our host, Jim Hawkins from BBC Radio Shropshire, to do such a great job of welcoming and entertaining the walkers.

The sooner we receive your sponsorship the sooner it will go to providing round the clock care to our patients and their loved ones.
Midnight Walk Shrewsbury 2011
Due to the huge success of the Midnight Walks this year, we are thrilled to annouce that registration for the 2011 events has already opened. To register for the Telford event on Saturday 4 June 2011 click here. The Shrewsbury walk will follow a well-lit 10km route around the town on Saturday 2 July 2011. To secure your place now, register by clicking below. It’s not too early to volunteer as a marshal either – be part of the fun by helping on registration, at the checkpoint or around the course.
