General Knowledge Quiz

Following the success of our first 200 question general knowledge quiz in 2009 / 2010, we were delighted when quizmaster Dave Watkins of Market Drayton agreed to prepare a second quiz for winter 2010 / 2011. The completed quizzes have now been marked by Dave and the full answers are given below, together with a list of winners and those who scored over 170.

Dave says: I would like to thank everyone who purchased my quiz sheet and contributed to the final total of £1407 which will be forwarded to the Severn Hospice funds, including those who kindly made donations to the cause. A total of 62 quiz answer sheets were submitted for marking, and my congratulations go to the winners.

I am hoping to set another brainteaser for next autumn, which will be available from September onwards in Severn Hospice shops and other usual outlets or directly from myself on 01630 654 130 or dgwatkins@sky.com. The answers to this quiz are also available on the Severn Hospice website, www.severnhospice.org.uk where you will also find details of the forthcoming quiz when it is ready.

We would also like to thank Dave for his own hard work in compiling the quiz and painstakingly checking each completed answer sheet. We look forward to seeing the new quiz later in the year and will announce details on this site when it is ready.
