Events

You can help us by taking part in one of the many events that we organise each year and raising sponsorship. These events are fun, sociable and provide a great opportunity to take part in an unusual and enjoyable activity. The money that you raise in sponsorship goes straight to funding the services that the Hospice provides.

We are always looking for people who are prepared to help us organise events, taking on tasks like registering people, marshalling road crossings or staffing checkpoints. We know that it can be difficult to raise sponsorship sometimes, and volunteering gives an alternative way to get involved and be part of the fun.

Our events for 2010 already include:

25 April – Spring Walk (marshalling, registration, checkpoints)

5 June and 3 July – Midnight Walks (parking, marshalling, registration)

27 June – Dragon Boat Festival (parking, registration, safety officer, tombola, lost and found, clearing the site)

10-11 July – Ironbridge Gorge Brass Band Festival (parking, raffle, programme selling, stewarding)

5 September - The Great Big Bike Ride (registration, marshalling, checkpoints)

Your help would make all the difference to these events and we can also promise you a fun day. If you are interested in getting involved just email us at appeals@severnhospice.org.uk and let us know which event you are interested in helping in. Full details of events will appear on the Events menu as they are announced so do keep checking back.

We often also need help with:

Street collections
Supermarket collections and bag packs
Fetes and fayres

We also have Support Groups in most parts of Shropshire and Mid Wales who are always keen to find new members to help with their own fundraising activities.

To register an interest in any type of activity simply email appeals@severnhospice.org.uk. You can also contact us if you would like to organise your own fundraising event – we can help with promotion and offer advice and guidance at every stage.
