‘Come Fly With Us’ Zip Line 2012
We are excited to announce a fantastic new event for all the thrill seekers out there!
For the first time ever, Severn Hospice and Royal Air Force Museum Cosford are teaming up to host a 500 foot Zip Line.
This special event will see participants ziplining from the roof of the Museum, a famous landmark which is shaped like the propeller of a plane. The views are spectacular and this really will be a day to remember for the lucky few who take part.
We would like to extend our thanks to the Museum for giving permission for this thrilling event to take place.
Daredevils will be able to ‘Come Fly With us’ on Sunday 30 September 2012. There are only 170 places available for this one day event so please do not waste any time in signing up. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis and registration must close as soon as the places are taken.
Before signing up for this event, please note the photo of the steps to the right of the page. This is the only route to the roof of the Museum – and the only way back down if you change your mind at the top. There are a total of 12 flights of mesh steel steps. On the day you will be in your harness and attached to a safety rope as you climb, but please be confident that you will be able to complete the climb before you register.
Our friends at Rope Race will be delivering the zip line. We have worked with the team before on both abseils and zip lines, and know that they have the skills and expertise to ensure that everyone who takes part has a fantastic day.
You must be aged 17 years or over to take part in this event. There is also a weight limit for the event of 20 stone due to the size of the harnesses. Registration is £20, which is non-refundable. To secure your place just click on the ‘Sign Up’ button below. Raising a minimum of £100 in sponsorship is a condition of entry and by signing up you are indicating that you accept this.
Once your registration has been processed we will send you an information pack, including your sign in time for the day itself. It will take a maximum of an hour from your sign in time to the end of your zip line. Family and friends are welcome to come along to watch your flight. The Museum will be open on the day with free admission, a range of stunning exhibits and an on-site cafe offering a range of refreshments.
The official closing date for entries is Friday 14 September, but we do expect all of the places to be allocated well in advance of this deadline. Once the first 170 people have signed up registration will close.
