Cambrian Century Midnight Ride to Barmouth 2012
The Cambrian Century Midnight Ride to Barmouth returns for another year on Saturday 4 August 2012. Only 200 cyclists can take place in this event so the organisers are encouraging those who want to secure a place to waste no time in signing up.
The Cambrian Century is organised by Bicycles by Design of Jackfield (sister company to The Bicycle Hub) and is a sponsored bike ride to raise essential funds for Severn Hospice. On the night participants will gather at Bicycles by Design from 11pm ready for a midnight start. They will cycle through Ironbridge, Buildwas, Pontesbury, Minsterley, Marton, Aberhafesp and Llanwhog, Aberdyfi before reaching Barmouth as the sun begins to rise.

This really is a special event, with the cyclists sweeping through the valleys of mid-Wales as dawn breaks before arriving at the coast for a well-deserved breakfast. The total distance covered is 100 miles, making the event a test of stamina and fitness, concentration and skill.
As this ride is a serious challenge, all participants must be aged 18 or over on the date of the event and must be experienced riders who can comfortably complete 75% of the distance prior to the night. Places are strictly limited to 200 and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Registration on the night will not be permitted. A payment of £30 is due when registering for the event. This covers the costs of organising the ride. A limited number of places are available to travel back from the event by coach with your bicycle. A further payment of £20 is required to book a place on the coach. If you do not choose to book a return journey you will be responsible for transporting yourself and your bicycle back to Shropshire.
