Events

You can help us by taking part in one of the many events that we organise each year and raising sponsorship. These events are fun, sociable and provide a great opportunity to take part in an unusual and enjoyable activity. The money that you raise in sponsorship goes straight to funding the services that the Hospice provides.

We are always looking for people who are prepared to help us at events, taking on tasks like registering people, marshalling road crossings or staffing checkpoints. We know that it can be difficult to raise sponsorship sometimes, and volunteering gives an alternative way to get involved and be part of the fun.

Last year volunteers helped us out at our Spring Walk (marshalling, registration, checkpoints), Midnight Walks (parking, marshalling, registration), Dragon Boat Festival (parking, registration, safety officer, tombola, lost and found, clearing the site) and the Ironbridge Gorge Brass Band Festival (parking, raffle, programme selling, stewarding). Others have taken photographs of our events so we can promote them in future years.

We could not run our events – which raise tens of thousands of pounds each year – without this type of support. Your help would make all the difference and we can also promise you a fun day. If you are interested in getting involved you can sign up via our Event Shop or email us at appeals@severnhospice.org.uk and let us know which event you are interested in helping at.

We often also need help with:

Street collections
Supermarket collections and bag packs
Fetes and fayres

We also have Support Groups in most parts of Shropshire and Mid Wales who are always keen to find new members to help with their own fundraising activities.

To register an interest in any type of activity simply email appeals@severnhospice.org.uk. You can also contact us if you would like to organise your own fundraising event – we can help with promotion and offer advice and guidance at every stage.
