Another successful Midnight Walk in Telford!
Posted on May 28, 2012
Thank you to all of the ladies who took part in our annual Midnight Walk in Telford on Saturday night. The weather was beautiful and every walker looked amazing as they set off into the night in their fancy dress outfits. Fairy wings glowed and a Jubilee theme was definitley present with the costumes on the night.
Nearly £26,000 was raised by our ladies taking part which will go a long way to providing essential care to our patients and their loved ones.
The event could not have taken place without the wonderful volunteers who gave up their Saturday night to help. Over a hundred volunteers helped out to make the Walk another success.
Sarah Hawthorne, fundraising events organiser for Severn Hospice, said: “What a fantastic night! We were thrilled with the number of ladies who joined us for our Midnight Walk in Telford. Everyone had a brilliant night. We would like to thank every woman who took part on the night, and the fantastic volunteers who worked so hard to keep them safe. Everyone from the pace setter through to the warm up instructor gave their time for free and we are so grateful to them all.
“We were lucky enough to have the support of some wonderful local organisations. We would particularly like to thank TCAT for hosting the walk and Raynet for providing communication support.
“We rely on fundraising events like the Midnight Walk for a significant proportion of our income and it is tremendous to see the community pulling together to create such a wonderful night. Early indications show that this year’s walk in Telford has raised nearly £26,000, which is fantastic.”
