Masons give boost to funds

Posted on Jan 20, 2012

We were honoured to welcome representatives of the Masonic movement on Thursday.

Peter Taylor, the Provincial Grand Master, was accompanied by Ian Smith (President), Les Oakley (Secretary) and John Williamson as he presented cheques from the Freemasons Grand Charity.

The group called at our Telford site first, where they presented £2,136 to community fundraising manager Lucy Proctor.

They were then welcomed at our Bicton Heath, Shrewsbury site by appeals director Norma Ross, who accepted a cheque for £3,982.

The Freemasons Grand Charity has long been a friend to the hospice movement and donated a total of £600,000 to UK hospices in 2011 alone. We are deeply grateful to them, and to our local Lodges, for their ongoing support.
