Cash for card at Christmas

Turn your unwanted cardboard into cash for the Hospice this Christmas thanks to a new scheme run by community groups and businesses in Shrewsbury.
Local people and businesses are being asked to take their waste card to the Red Barn Pub, in Longden Road, or United Reform Church, in Abbey Foregate on January 7th between 9am and 2pm to help pull in the pounds for Severn Hospice.
Transition Town Shrewsbury and cardboard merchants Pink Skips have joined forces with local waste enterprises Cwm Harry, Cae Post and Reviive to organise the project, which is raising funds for our charity and also Hope House.
Jonathan Payne, who works at the Red Barn Pub, said: “We’re supporting Cardboard Christmas as it’s a great way to raise money for the Hospice and Hope House, as well as stopping cardboard going to landfill. We hope everyone in the town will join in.”
Ali Thomas, of Transition Town Shrewsbury, added: “Please collect cardboard from your street, with your friends or with any groups you belong to in order to help us collect as much as possible on the day.”
