Oakgate Tea Room Brews Up Funds.

Posted on Nov 10, 2011

Accompanied by the Forlorn Hope Band, the Oakgate Plant Centre Tea Room held a barbecue and fundraising evening at the end of August. Organised in memory of Malcolm Denny, a friend of the band, and held in the beautiful gardens that surround the tearoom in Ellerdine, the event raised the fantastic sum of £640.80 for Severn Hospice.

Host Caroline from the Tea Room ensured that everyone was able to not only enjoy the delicious food on offer but also the music, quiz, raffle and auction that provided the evening’s entertainment. Even when the rain started at around 6.30pm and everyone had to move indoors, it could not dampen the warm atmosphere at the event.

We are very grateful to Caroline and her great team, as well as John and everyone at the Plant Centre, for putting on such a  wonderful evening to raise funds for us.
