Metal detectors seek out funds
Posted on Oct 7, 2011
On Sunday 2 October members of the Midland Metal Detecting Club gathered at Isle Farm in Bicton to spend a day scouring the land for lost treasures.
With the kind permission of landlord Edward Tate club members roamed over acres of farmland and pasture and were quickly rewarded with finds ranging from Roman times to the Victorian era. Coins, jewellery, thimbles, musket balls and household artifacts were among the discoveries.
The day was a great success, with the icing on the cake being the £410 the Club raised for Severn Hospice.
We would like to thank the Club members for their generosity, wishing them the very best with their future activities, and Mr Tate for allowing the event to take place.
