Lake Vyrnwy Success!

Posted on Sep 12, 2011

Congratulations to all of our runners who completed the Lake Vyrnwy Half Marathon yesterday. Despite the wet and windy weather the event was a resounding success for the Severn Hospice team.

Many of our team were experiencing their very first half marathon whilst other more seasoned runners were returning to one of their favourite events. James Dowdall was the first of the Hospice team back for the second year running with Kim Bennett leading our ladies home. For a full results listing you can go to UK Results and type ‘Severn Hospice’ into the club box.

Several members of our team were extremely grateful for the attentions of Angus Harvey-Smith of AHS Sports Therapy when they got back from the run. Angus very kindly offered pre and post race massages and advice free of charge to the Severn Hospice team.

Our team are on course to raise over £5000 for the Hospice. Our heartfelt thanks go to all of our dedicated runners and fundraisers, to Angus and the organisers of the race itself for another fantastic event.

Registration for the 2012 event will open in the New Year and details will be posted on our website once they are available.
