A Shrewsbury garden centre has created a buzz at Severn Hospice this week after donating hundreds of pounds worth of bee-friendly plants.

Dobbies Garden World Shrewsbury has donated the plants as part of their national Here We Grow community initiative.

Kristian Booth, lead gardener at Severn Hospice, said: ‘Our gardens play a vital role at the Hospice offering patients and their loved ones a peaceful retreat to enjoy at their leisure. We see the gardens as an extension of the Hospice and our team of volunteers work tirelessly to make sure they are looking at their best at all times.

‘We are thrilled to be working with the team at Dobbies and we’re looking forward to planting the vast array of plants and trees they have donated.’

Jonathon Howells, assistant manager at Dobbies Garden World Shrewsbury said, ‘As part of Dobbies Here We Grow community initiative we have donated over £350 worth of products, including lavender plants, apple trees and bedding plants to Severn Hospice. We are delighted to be working with the on-sight gardener to help create a relaxing area and bee friendly garden for the Hospice residents to enjoy.’
