Photo of London Marathon 2011 runnersLast week we were honoured to welcome many of our Severn Hospice team of Virgin London Marathon 2011 runners to our Shrewsbury site.

The gathering was an opportunity for trustees and staff to express their gratitude to the runners and to hear their war stories from the day itself.

For some of the team it was the first time they had visited the Hospice and we were delighted to be able to give them a tour and explain how the funds they have raised will be spent.

Many of the runners brought their medals with them so we could not resist the opportunity to take a few photos while they were with us.

Each year we are able to give Gold Bond places to ten runners who wish to raise funds for Severn Hospice. If you would like to take part in the 2012 Virgin London Marathon you have until 2 September to apply for one of the coveted Bonds. To learn more or apply for a place click here.

You can also run for us if you get your own place through the official ballot. Once you have secured your place just email Mike Perry or call him on 01743 354 450 or 01952 221 351. Running for Severn Hospice means you are part of a team, sharing tips and knowledge during the long training months and developing friendships that last through the event and beyond. And of course every penny you raise makes a difference to the work of the Hospice, making your Marathon experience even more special.
