Dragon Boat Festival this weekend

It’s oars at the ready for our annual Dragon Boat Festival taking place this Sunday. Teams from across the county will be racing in 40ft dragon boats along the River Severn to raise money for Severn Hospice.
The Dragon Boat Festival is an amazing event for spectators. Whether or not you know anyone in a team, why not come and watch the fun?
The teams will race between the Kingsland Bridge and the Pengwern Boat Club in Shrewsbury. The riverbank in the Quarry gives a perfect view so bring a picnic and cheer on our brave competitors. Racing will start between 9.30am and 10am and will continue until 3pm.
One team who will be competing for the title of ‘Dragon Boat Champions’ and the highly coveted fancy dress competition is Shrewsbury Ladies Circle.
