Spirits high on Midnight Walk

Posted on Jul 14, 2009

Despite terrible weather, our first ever Midnight Walk in Shrewsbury went ahead on Saturday 11 July. Over 250 women braved the downpours to complete the ten mile circular route, while dozens of marshals were on hand to encourage them.

With everyone working flat out to keep the event running smoothly, our volunteer photographer was not able to swing into action until half the women had completed their walk. Pictures from later in the event are now up on our Flickr page, but if you took your own photos on the night why not share them by emailing appeals@severnhospice.org.uk.

We will be announcing details of the 2010 Midnight Walks in the next few weeks and registration will open shortly. We will also post updates of how much has been raised on both the Telford and Shrewsbury walks as the funds come in. In the meantime, thank you again to all of the walkers, to our wonderful volunteers and to supporters like Raynet, STFC, Bannatynes Gym, Women in Mind and Shropshire Council – we could not have done it without you.
